Need a lift? World's 18 Strangest Elevators

We stumbled across this article about the World's Strangest Elevators from Popular Mechanics and thought it was fascinating. Many of our self storage buildings have lifts for easy access and transport of your goods but nothing quite like this. Some highlights are:

  • The fastest elevator at about 64km p/h and reaching the top of a 620m tower in 35 seconds
  • A glass bottomed lift in a tower that is 70 stories high
  • An elevator that doubles as a bar and is on a ship taking 8 minutes to complete a trip
  • The tallest elevator in the world with a height of about 305m and set on a cliff in China
  • A lift inside an aquarium in a hotel in Germany

Pictured below is some of our guests in the lift at Stor-Age Gardens in Cape Town.

Feature extra large lifts at Stor-Age Self Storage

While we can't offer such extravagant elevators at our self storage facilities in South Africa we can assure you that they are more than capable of moving you and your goods into your self storage unit safely and easily. We also provide trolleys for you convenience at no charge.
