Stor-Age Announces Opening of Sunninghill Store
Stor-Age welcomed the newest of its facilities to its operating portfolio with the official opening of the flagship asset, Stor-Age Sunninghill, this morning. This brand new facility is the first of three in Johannesburg and signals Stor-Age’s entry into Sandton, comprising of Johannesburg’s high density, central and northern suburbs.
Situated on Kikuyu Road, the site is well placed to serve the areas of Sunninghill, Woodmead, Rivonia, Paulshof and Lonehill. In keeping with the positioning of similar stores in the Stor-Age portfolio nationwide, Stor-Age Sunninghill is perfectly positioned to take advantage of its exposure to the major arterial route, the N1 Western Bypass when travelling past the Rivonia off ramp and will expose the Stor-Age brand to large volumes of traffic on a daily basis.
“Stor-Age Sunninghill is a facility we have been eagerly anticipating opening, as it represents Stor-Age’s entry into the inner ring of Johannesburg and marks the next phase of growth in the Gauteng region” said CEO, Gavin Lucas.
The state of the art, big box style self storage facility boasts 7 500 m² of GLA (gross lettable area), divided up into an impressive array of different unit sizes ranging from 3m² to 30m², with the possibility of additional sizes to be added. The seven storey tall building is the tallest in the current Stor-Age portfolio and has multiple floors with access to goods lifts to make sure that tenants are able to move their goods in and out of their units with ease.
This new and highly anticipated addition to the Stor-Age portfolio came at an estimated project cost of R85 million. Stor-Age are delighted to announce that the project has been completed both on time and within the budget allocated to it when planning.
Stor-Age Sunninghill will offer customers ample parking, 24hr security and tagged access, along with a modern and functional customer interface. The facility will also house a regional office for staff in Gauteng as well as the new Gauteng Training Centre which will accommodate training programmes for Stor-Age staff in the Gauteng area.
