Collect Your Free Santa Shoebox Nationwide

The Santa Shoebox Project is an annual charity drive that helps bring the joy of the festive season to underprivileged children across South Africa and Namibia by encouraging the public to pledge a gift-filled shoebox.

This year, pledges opened on 01 August, earlier than usual. It has been just over a month since pledges have opened, and already more than 55% of pledges have been received. This is an incredible result, and we feel very encouraged by the public’s enthusiasm.

We have been involved with the Santa Shoebox Project for the past six years, and we are excited to once again be partnered with such a wonderful initiative for the 7th consecutive year.

In 12 years, the project has reached 762 594 children, and this year the initiative continues to ‘march to one million’. We are very close to achieving this goal – but we need help from the public in order to make this a reality.

We have committed to opening our conveniently located Stor-Age stores nationwide as drop and go points for filled shoeboxes. In addition, we will be giving out up to four shoeboxes per person that visits the store wishing to get involved. Additional boxes will be sold for R5 per box. We hope that by providing the shoeboxes and convenient drop and go points, that the public are encouraged to be take part in this special initiative and make a difference in the life of a young child.

Deborah Zelezniak, COO of Santa Shoebox, comments, “With just three weeks to go before our first drop offs open, we urge our loyal supporters to recruit a friend or colleague to also pledge a shoebox. This will push us over the finish line of 115 000 underprivileged children receiving a lovingly-made Santa Shoebox in 2018!”

Special mention must be made of St Francis Bay/Kouga, Erongo Region (Namibia), Ladysmith, Witbank, Kathu, Riversdale, Sedgefield and Tulbagh who have already reached 100% pledges.

We encourage everyone to get involved and help spread the cheer of Christmas to those less fortunate than yourself.
