Stor-Age Announced As Event Sponsor For Wines2Whales 2018
We are excited to announce that Stor-Age has partnered with Wines2Whales as an event sponsor for 2018.
This year marks the tenth year of South Africa’s premier 3-day MTB stage race, where 4 500 riders will race over a distance of 200km through tough terrain. The demand to take part in this year’s memorable event has been notably greater than previous years, with event organisers confirming that all entries were sold out earlier this month.
How will Stor-Age be involved? We have partnered with Wines2Whales as an event sponsor, with a focus on improving the rider experience so as to make the race even bigger and better than before.
The estimated total value of the 4 500 bikes that will hit the trail during Wines2Whales amounts to over R270 million. So, when it comes to where to store those bikes overnight after each stage of the race, safety and security is front of mind for all those taking part.
We are providing the perfect solution for riders with the ‘Stor-Age Bike Hotel’, a secure area within the race village in Oak Valley. Riders can store their bikes safely and securely overnight in the Stor-Age Bike Hotel, which will be positioned alongside the Squirt bike washing station. Once the bikes have been washed, they will be moved across to the Stor-Age Bike Hotel. Riders will then be notified via SMS that their bikes are clean and stored safely.
We are also offering riders a complimentary premium bike wrapping and boxing service at the finish of each race. Riders simply need to take their bikes to the Stor-Age bike boxing area at the Hermanus High School near the finish, and the team will professionally wrap and box them for free. For riders wanting to relax at the Marine Hotel finish, we will also be providing a complimentary storage area where bikes can be stored safely while riders take some time out.
Travelling in from upcountry for Wines2Whales 2018? We are offering the same premium boxing service to all riders travelling from Gauteng prior to the race. On 22 and 29 October, riders can simply visit Stor-Age Bryanston (1 Vlok Road, Bryanston) and have their bikes wrapped and boxed for free. Riders first need to book their slot, Book Your Free Bike Boxing (spots are limited).
“Stor-Age’s innovative solutions to rider safety will ease their concerns and help them enjoy every moment of the FNB Wines2Whales experience” Michael Flinn, Managing Director of the FNB Wines2Whales praised. “It is not often that sponsors are able to offer riders value before they even reach the event, but with Stor-Age’s premium boxing service Gauteng based riders will have total peace of mind when flying down to the Western Cape for the race.”
Comments Chris Oosthuizen, Head of Sales, Marketing & Product for Stor-Age, ‘’We are delighted to be partnering with Wines2Whales for 2018. The opportunity to be aligned with one of South Africa's most renowned sporting events is certainly an exciting one, and we are looking forward to adding much value to the already spectacular rider experience. Wines2Whales 2018 promises to be even bigger and better than before, and we are already enjoying the comradery that comes with such a wonderful event.’’
For riders who have booked their complimentary bike wrapping and boxing service at the finish, you’ll find the Stor-Age team at the Hermanus High School near the Marine Hotel.
