This Thursday, 9 August 2012, is a public holiday in commemoration of the more than 20,000 women that marched on the Union Buildings in Pretoria. They were marching against pass laws and inequality. Now 56 years on we remember the effort and bravery these women put in by declaring National Women's Day.
