4. Pack more efficiently
The right packing techniques can save you a lot of space. Here are some ways to pack your things more efficiently and save on space.
- Place smaller boxes within bigger ones.
- Pack in layers with heavier things on the bottom and lighter ones on top.
- Roll your clothes to save space and make sure they don’t wrinkle.
- Break down furniture to store it easily.
5. Share with a friend
If you don’t have a lot to store, consider splitting a unit with friends or housemates. Sharing means you pay less in rent, plus you have a helping hand when you’re moving your belongings.
How to store with a friend:
- Decide how you want to divide the space. Use tape on the floor as a way to mark your area and remember to label boxes correctly.
- Maximise your space by using vertical space as well as stacking boxes on top of each other.
- Keep a space down the middle to walk through.
