With spring in the air and summer on its way, the warm Durban sun is luring many to visit the area.

  • Picnic in the Botanical Gardens 

The botanical gardens in Berea is host to a wide variety of different plant species and is a great scenic space in which to take a bit of time out. Whether you are an avid gardener or not, the botanical gardens in Berea is a beautiful place to spend the day. Pack a picnic and spend some time taking in the wonderful scenery. If you have children, this is a great place to exposure them to some nature and have some fun in the outdoors.

  • The Arts 

If you are looking for something a little bit more on the cultural side of life, why not take a look at the KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts. This gallery was first established in 1906 and has a fantastic history of displaying arts from some of the top local and international artists. If you are in the mood to tap into your inner artist, this is a place you can go to find inspiration.

  • Markets

There is something great about walking through local markets, taking a look at the different stalls, tasting different bits and bobs and buying things you never knew you needed. There are a variety of different markets to choose from in Berea. One option is the Musgrave Rooftop Market which is held on the first Friday of every month on the fifth floor of the Musgrave Centre.
