General

Self storage is simple, hassle free and easily accessible. Simply select the unit size, in the location that best suites you and then move-in. There are no long term contracts to sign and you can move-in on the same day. Access is free of charge and you can change your unit size any time you want. Not sure what size is right for you? You don’t have to reserve a unit but this is advisable. To ensure you don’t lose the storage space that best suites you, you can reserve a unit by paying a deposit. Check with our staff to book your space now.

No problem, our well trained staff will assist you with your move-in and you will have access to your storage space on the same day. Just remember to bring along your ID or passport.

You will need to sign a lease before you have access to your storage unit. Please remember to give us written notice by the 15th of the month if you intend moving out at the end of the month.

Our well trained staff can assist you to select the unit size that best suites you. Remember if you need regular access to your stored items then a larger space where you can pack aisles will be beneficial. If you know you will only access the unit once you move-out then a smaller space can save in costs.

No problem, you can transfer to another size unit anytime and as many times as you want.

Most of our units are three (3) metres high. Best practice is to check with our staff before you choose your unit.

Our minimum period is one (1) month and there is no limit to how long you can stay.

One of the benefits of using Stor-Age is that you are not contracted to a long-term lease. Please remember to give us written notice before the 15th of the month within the month that you intend moving out. For example, if you intend moving out at the end of March, you’ll need to give us notice by the 15th of March.

We would like you to store anything you need but there are some restrictions. Items which we have identified as hazardous and/or not suitable for self storage, and which we do not allow our customers to store in our secure storage facilities are:

  • toxic, pollutants or contaminated goods
  • firearms, munitions or explosives
  • radioactive materials
  • hazardous goods
  • living plants or animals
  • food or perishable goods
  • cash and securities
  • illegal goods
  • waste

Here’s what you need to provide us when you are ready to move into your secure self storage unit. You can either bring these to our store or upload them to the online move-in form.

  • A copy of your ID - Should you be a foreign national, we will require proof of a valid work or residence permit
  • Proof of account - A bank statement or the like
  • A copy of your CIPC document - If you are a business

Here's a few things you need to know:

  • Please note that we don't accept cash. You can make payment via card, EFT or SnapScan.
  • Your first payment is made upfront.
    All customers are required to have insurance on their unit. You can view the options on our Customer Cover page or you can provide proof of your own insurance.
  • For added security, each of our stores feature access control. All customers are required to purchase a non-refundable entry tag which will allow you contactless entry into the property.
  • You’ll need a padlock to secure your unit. We have quality options available in our packaging store which you’ll find in our reception area. You can also browse the list of items on our online packaging shop and purchase there directly if you prefer. Remember, you lock your unit and you keep the key.

When it comes to your self storage unit, there are a few simple things that you can do to maximize the space and to make sure that your items are protected.

Payment

This depends on the unit size that you select. We have units ranging from one square metre up to 100 square metres and for larger storage needs we have bulk self warehousing options. If you are not sure what size will suit you contact one of our well trained staff and we will assist you.

Please be aware that for the safety of our customers and staff we do not accept cash on site.

Our helpful staff will explain all you need to know when you move-in, however it is important to note the following costs are not included in your monthly rental:

  • One month deposit
  • A nominal fee for your unique entry tag, to ensure secure access control
  • Your own padlock. We have a range of padlocks and packaging available in store
  • Insurance cover is an addition fee, starting from R40 per month

Your first payment is due on or before your move-in date. Thereafter rent is due on the first of every month, however we will place a debit order on your behalf to avoid the hassle of making your monthly payment.

Please be aware that for the safety of our customers and staff we do not accept cash on site.

In the interests of safety for our customers and staff, Stor-Age does not accept cash as a form of payment.

All payments should be made by debit order, EFT or direct deposit. You will have the opportunity to complete a debit order form for simple and hassle free payments.

Security

There is a wide range of security features at our stores, ranging from CCTV cameras and individually alarmed units, to electric fencing and access control systems. Read more about our self storage security features. Our units are also insured which you can read about on our customer cover page.

Services

The access hours of our facilities vary so please check with our staff or alternatively you can look on our website under your particular location.

Please note that our office hours are different to our access hours. The office is open from 08:00 – 17:00 on weekdays, 09:00 – 12:00 on Saturdays and closed on public holidays.
