WHAT OUR STAFF SAY
BRENDA GROVE - AREA MANAGER
Why did you choose to apply to Stor-Age?
I was in a job that was not going anywhere, and Stor-Age had a position open for an Operations Manager at Sea Point.
What does an average day in your position entail?
My days start with checking the activities of the three stores I am responsible for. I then catch up on emails before starting training with store managers if they are not busy with clients. If I am not doing training, I am doing site checks on the conversions and conducting follow ups. I monitor if staff are doing work in the correct Stor-Age trained way. I also advise on queries from new staff I am training, and assist clients with any queries or complaints.
What learning opportunities have you been exposed to whilst at Stor-Age?
Train the Trainer. Various in-house training course including sales training, managers training and Health and Safety training. The most important training is the on-the-job training I get daily in my work.
How do you make a difference by contributing towards the core values of the business?
I aspire to train everyone that I work with to do everything the Stor-Age way. What I teach is what I do. I want happy customers so I can be proud of our company.
What highlights have you enjoyed whilst employed at Stor-Age?
Seeing Jack Parow live rates highly. Seeing the company list on the JSE and knowing I had a small part to play in our success. Getting to live in four different regions for work.
What are your thoughts on the growth of the business?
It has been fantastic to be part of the company’s growth. The number of properties with our name on it is something I am extremely proud of.
